Concrete Angel farm3.static.flickr.com/2286/2056865577_9388ea396d_o.jpg The little filly moped into the lonesome land. Her creamy fuzz of pelt, which was growing long in the winter cold, blew with the whipping wind. She didn't cry, she didn't whine, and she didn't speak. Her hard shell was unbreakable. She would not even lift her head in defiance, she was like a concrete wall, unmoving. Her heart was as cold, but at the hope of love it would warm. There was a chance for her yet, as long as the one who chose her gave her a chance. If only someone cared....... She moved to a big tree, out of the wind, and sank to the ground. She sighed and slept, awaiting whatever fate would bring. ooc: this is what she will look like full grown farm3.static.flickr.com/2055/1542917644_d84e53114f.jpg?v=0

Elphaba watched the filly, her pure black coat blended into the darkness around her as she stood in the dense thicket of trees, watching with her 'stoney', dark orbs. Her cold heart softened as the looked on at the little creamy foal, she knew what it was like to be alone, both socially and mentally, she herself was banished from her 'light' herd for being dark of colour and blood, never given a chance to show how untrue that was...
She hesitated slightly before stepping out from the darkness, and calmly walked over to the tree where the filly lay. Stopping a meter or so away, not wanting to frighten or stand over the young one, but instead softly said;
"Hello there little one... My name is Elphaba... if you don't mind me asking, how is it that a filly such as yourself is out all alone in such miserable weather?"
Her voice was soft and gentle, almost soothing to the ear, yet had the potential to change into a fierce, wild snarl if she was ever angered.ooc: Sorry it's not a fantastic post... so tired

Angel looked up, squinting her eyes into the shadow of the mare in front of her. She didn't feel like talking, or moving, but the mare asked her something, and she would be polite.
Ugh, I lost my mother, or she lost me rather, on purpose I believe. I will tell you now. You do not have to pity me, you do not have to feel as though you need to show me the love I never had, and you do not have to try and explain why my mother did what she did, I already know. I am in this weather because I have no choice. If I have been rude I apologize.
the little filly, who spoke so maturely for her young age, rose then. She held the gaze of the apparently black mare.
I wouldn't mind a warm home though. That is why I am here, I want a home.

The filly reminded Elphaba a lot of herself when she was young, not that she wasn't young now, at 4 years of age she was only just in her first years of maturity.
"I do not wish to pry into your life, or pity you or your misfortunes, i merely want to know you are safe and kept away from any dark creatures of the night, you may be strong but are no match for some of the wicked beings prowling by night"
She softened her gaze as she continued
"If it is a home that you are after, i shall be more than happy for you to come with me, i am not bound by a herd, but instead, travel the land on my own and could use a bit of company"
Just by looking at Elphaba it could be easily seen that she was a strong and independent mare, and whilst many were intimidated and even feared her. But she did have a soft and gentle part to her, which she showed around the younger horses.

Angel looked at the ground for a moment. She was struggling with her feelings. She shook a bit, the first sign of feeling the filly had shown in a long time. She didn't know if a home was what she indeed wanted. She knew what the mare spoke was right, she didn't stand a chance alone, and she was shocked she had made it this far.
I would like to come with you, but I am your friend and not your daughter, understood?
Angel stared her down, the mare. She could see herself with her.

Elphaba nodded at the fillies proposal
"That is all I ask, friends we shall be"
She admired the strength and courage that the young filly showed, she looked like someone Elphaba could get along with, which was perfect.
Then she remembered something she had not yet asked
"You have a name i take it, i'd rather call you that rather than something such as 'little one', one such as yourself deserves to be treated equally and use your name"
A hint of kindness now showed in her voice, if they were indeed to be friends, she had to start treating her like one... well what she thought they should be treated like, as she had never really had friends she didn't really know how to act.

The cream filly straightened and smiled, her chest puffing in her pride
I am called Concrete Angel, call me whatever you like, I don't mind.
she smiled and for the first time, did a sort of half hop, almost like playing, but she was so deprived of play time, she didn't know how. She stopped before she embarrassed herself.

Elphaba smiled and let out a happy little snort
"What a lovely name, would you mind if i called you Angel for short?"
She loved to watch the filly, smiling when she hopped and was tempted to join in... but she too did not know how to act when it came to playing, but she was sure they'd figure it out on their journey to a new home. The thought of a home reminded her to ask the foal
"I do not have a permanent home but we do have a few options on where we can go... There are always the free lands which is quite good... we could stay with my brother and his herd... well lack there of, as far as i know he just stays alone... or we could continue to wander, but i think you deserve a real home..."
She was a little unsure of what to do as she wanted what was best for her new little friend.
